I will be posting some of the recipes that I will be doing onstage at  the Suburban Home Show and the Gourmet Food and Wine Show this weekend. Poached pears in wine and vanilla cream with Homer Laughlin and Wendell August…let me explain…….

Wendell August sells handcrafted metal gifts  that are made in the USA in retail and online stores throughout  the USA,they will even personalize. We will have some of their pieces to display the dishes with… Here is one of my favorite pieces

  • Tuscan Fruit Bowl ($199.00 each) http://www.wendellaugust.com/items/Tuscan_Fruit_Bowl_2621: Like an artistic masterpiece, great products take time to create. This over sized fruit bowl makes a statement with its size and has been painstakingly fashioned with one of the great regions in the world for artistic inspiration in mind –Tuscany. Accessorizes any home with ultimate distinction. Size: 20 inches.

Homer Laughlin, the pottery company( has become a favorite of mine) producing lead free china that is really made in the USA and one of their well known heirloom lines is Fiestaware. I am so excited  to be presenting this recipe  on their 75th anniversary color  china and bakeware ..the color is Marigold and blends so well with the earthy tones of The Basic Art of Italian Cooking

This casserole dish holds 70 ounces; Height 5 7/8 inches; Diameter 9 1/4 inches. This is a dishwasher, oven, and microwave safe dish, made with fully vitrified lead-free china with a color glaze.
