Romantic Dinner for Two
Appetizer: BRUSCHETTA GRATINATE
First Course: LINGUINE ALLE VONGOLE (clams with linguine)
Second Course: PEPPERONI IMBOTTITI (stuffed peppers)
Dessert: FRESH STRAWBERRIES with LEMON (Fragole con Limone)
Bevanda (beverage): CAFFE ALL'ARANCIA (Orange flavored coffee)


FRESH STRAWBERRIES with LEMON (Fragole con Limone)

 

1 pound fresh strawberries
1 lemon (grown organically)
3 tablespoons sugar (to your taste)
A handful of fresh mint leaves

Wash the strawberries and hull them with a small knife. If you are using the baby strawberries, or fragolini, you do not have to cut them. If you are using the normal-sized strawberries, cut each strawberry in half. Squeeze your lemon over the halved strawberries and sprinkle on the sugar. Refrigerate for one hour and then taste the strawberries after all the flavors have had a chance to marinade. If you desire a sweeter taste, sprinkle with a touch of sugar.

Divide the strawberries into 4-5 dessert cups, garnish them with mint leaves, and serve them cold, right from the refrigerator.

Serve dessert with a great sparkling wine:
